About Us

Dr. Lynnette SinclairSmith, a fear-free certified practitioner was raised in Calgary and has always had a love for all animals. She started as a receptionist at the Westhills Veterinary Clinic, then went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, with Great Distinction, in 2004.

After graduating, Lynnette spent the first two years working as a small animal emergency veterinarian, then returned to the Westhills Veterinary Clinic in 2006 as an associate veterinarian. She has a passion for internal medicine and cherishes the time she spends with her clients and patients, striving to provide the best care possible.

Lynnette has most recently fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a co-owner of the practice in October 2016.

When not putting in long hours at the practice, she enjoys spending time travelling with her family (usually in the hot sun), paddle boarding, playing the piano, and absolutely adores her fur family (Motz, Chips and Chowder).

A proud, born and raised Calgarian, Dr. Suzanne Adams-Hird; a fear-free certified practitioner, attended the University of Calgary, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Zoology. She then went on to attend the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, graduating with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, with Great Distinction, in 1992.

Working part-time at various clinics across Calgary and Canmore, Suzanne spent rich years raising her busy family, while never losing her interest, desire or skills in caring for creatures great and small.

In 2001, Suzanne joined the Westhills Veterinary Clinic,  providing locum services and appreciating the diverse and interesting clients and patients the clinic enjoys. She proudly became co-owner of the practice in October of 2016, fulfilling a longtime goal.

In addition to her time at the clinic, Suzanne is a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, mentoring the next generation of animal care professionals. Suzanne’s areas of keen interest lie in soft tissue surgery and dentistry.

When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, her pets (Murphy, Jack and Jill), travelling, photography and scrapbooking.

Dr. Hayley Robbins, a fear-free certified practitioner, started volunteering at the Westhills Veterinary Clinic during her first year of veterinary school and then joined the practice as a full-time veterinarian in the summer of 2017. She graduated from the University of Calgary Veterinary Medicine program with distinction. During her studies she gained experience in various fields of veterinary medicine, including small animal general practice, small animal emergency medicine and veterinary research.

Hayley grew up in Calgary and is very happy to be practicing in her hometown. When she is not at the clinic (which is rare!), she really enjoys cooking and even did a cooking class in Italy. She loves to spend time with her family and her family dog, Frisbee, who is an 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier mix. Hayley loves all aspects of small animal veterinary practice and is very excited to be part of the Westhills veterinary team.

Living in Calgary her whole life, Jill grew up in a busy family of three sisters and several dogs and cats over the years. The menagerie currently includes two senior cats, a Border Collie, and an Australian Shepherd.
Jill is also a longtime writer and contributes articles to local arts organizations, in addition to writing humour pieces, movie reviews, and short fiction. She enjoys attending classical concerts and watching movies, and is always looking for any opportunity to appreciate the artistic talents of others.

Returning to her hometown of Calgary, Dr. Teresa McAlpine is excited to be joining the Westhills team. A fear-free certified practitioner, Teresa graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine with distinction in the spring of 2022. Her passion for caring for animals has been an integral part of her life for as long as she can remember. Throughout her undergrad, she worked and volunteered in a variety of positions, including the Westhills Veterinary Clinic.

When she is not at the clinic, Teresa can be found at home spending time with her cat Theo, and often a foster animal or two. An active lifestyle has always been a priority for her, enjoying all sports but especially volleyball and ringette. A friendly competition of beach volleyball is one of the ways she loves to connect with her family and friends, in addition to attending concerts or spending time at the lake. Travelling is also a passion of Teresa’s, and she looks forward to actively exploring more of the world.

Joining the Westhills team is an amazing opportunity for Teresa to continue to make a difference in the lives of her patients, and she is excited to be practicing all areas of small animal veterinary medicine.
